Carry-On Luggage Regulations

Use this guide to help out with carry-on luggage restrictions and be sure to comply with the Transportation Security Administration's rules and regulations.

Whether you're flying domestically or internationally, every airline has its own carry-on luggage size restrictions.


1 Standard Article + 1 Personal Article Carry-On:

Standard Article: 23 cm x 40 cm x 55 cm (9 in x 15.5 in x 21.5 in)

Personal Article: 16 cm x 33 cm x 43 cm (6 in x 13 in x 17 in) 10 kg (22 lb)

Examples of standard or personal articles (as determined by their size):

  • Carry-On Bag
  • Roller Bag
  • Backpack
  • Briefcase
  • Laptop Bag/Backpack
  • Sport racquet (e.g. tennis, squash, badminton)
  • Musical Instrument
  • Cat or small dog in its carrier

  • Garment bag (size and weight restrictions apply)

Any baggage that cannot be stowed in the overhead compartment or fit under the seat, or baggage that is overweight or oversized, or baggage that we consider could jeopardize safety should be carried as checked baggage

First Class/Business Class passenger can carry two (2) pieces of carry-on baggage, with each weighing no more than eight (8) kilos (17 lbs.). 

  • First Class/Business Class passenger can carry two (2) pieces of carry-on baggage, with each weighing no more than eight (8) kilos (17 lbs.).
  • Each Economy Class passenger can carry up to one piece of carry-on baggage that weighs no more than five (5) kilos (11 lbs.). The linear dimensions of each piece of carry-on baggage shall not exceed 55 centimeters (22 in.) in length, 40 centimeters (16 in.) in width and 20 centimeters (8 in.) in height, which ensures that the carry-on baggage can be stowed in the closed overhead compartment or fit under the seat in front of you on board the aircraft.

In addition to your hand baggage, you can bring 1 personal accessory which should not exceed the following dimensions: 40 x 30 x 15 cm / 16 x 12 x 6 in.The combined weight of your hand baggage item and accessory must not exceed 12 kg / 26 lb or 18 kg / 39.7 lb, depending on your travel cabin.

You can choose to bring one of the following:

  • 1 handbag
  • 1 briefcase
  • 1 small bag for a notebook computer, camera or any other electronic device.

Your accessory must fit easily under the seat in front of you, unless you are seated in an emergency exit row. In this case, you must stow your accessory in an overhead storage bin.
You may also bring the following items with you in the cabin and they won't count as hand baggage or accessory. 

  • Jacket, Coat, or other clothes you're wearing
  • Umbrella
  • Duty-Free items purchased on your flight or at the airport
  • Accessories for children such as collapsible strollers, car seat, diaper bag
  • Medical Equipment (collapsible wheelchair, crutches, etc.)

You're allowed one carry-on bag which includes the wheels and handles that measure 22'' x 14'' x 9'' plus one personal item, such as a purse, briefcase, or laptop computer. 
 At least one of the items needs to be stowed under the seat in front of you or the storage big above your seat.

You can bring 1 Personal Item and 1 Carry-On

Personal Item: Must fit under the seat in front of you and must not exceed 18 x 14 x 8 inches (45 x 35 x 20 cm ).
Carry-On Item: Must not exceed Shouldn’t exceed 22 x 14 x 9 inches / 56 x 36 x 23 centimeters (including handles and wheels). Also must fit in the sizer at the airport.

Personal Items Include:

  • Purse
  • Briefcase
  • Laptop Bag
  • Diaper bags (1 per child)
  • Soft-sided cooler bags
  • Child safety seats
  • Strollers

You're only allowed one carry-on bag and one personal item. They will need to fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you. 

 Approved Additional Items:

  • Jacket
  • Umbrella
  • Duty-free merchandise
  • Special items (Strollers, child safety seats, wheelchairs, and crutches)
  • Baggage may not exceed 45 linear inches (or 114 cm) in combined length, width and height, including any handles and wheels, with the exception of small musical instruments that fit in the overhead compartment space or under-seat space available at the time of boarding. 
  • Baggage must meet carry on size limits (approximately 22" x 14" x 9" or 56 x 35 x 23 cm). Reference size check templates located at ticket counters and gates.

You're allowed to bring one personal item with you at no additional cost. A carry-on bag must not exceed 10" height x 16" width x 24" length, including handles, wheels, and straps, plus the bag can't weigh more than 35 pounds. The carry-on bag must fit underneath the seat in front of you or in the overhead bin.

  • Briefcase
  • Laptop Computer

Each ticketed guest is permitted one carry-on bag and one personal item. A personal item is a laptop bag, briefcase, purse, or backpack that can fit under the seat in front of you. All carry-on items must meet the following size and weight requirements. 

 Your carry-on bag must be within the following dimensions:

  • 22" length x 14" width x 9" height (45 linear inches)
  • Maximum weight: 25 pounds (11.5 kg).

Each customer is allowed one personal item which must not exceed 17" L (43.2 cm) x 13" W (33 cm) x 8" H (20.32 cm) plus one carry-on bag which must not exceed 22" L (55.88 cm) x 14" W (35.56 cm) x 9" H (22.86 cm) including wheels and handles . 

 Personal Items Include:

  • Purse
  • Small Backpack
  • Briefcase
  • Laptop Bag/Backpack
Carry-on bags may be stowed in the overhead bin or underneath the seat in front of you, while personal items must be placed underneath the seat in front of you.

As carry-on baggage, you can take one item of baggage with you, such as a trolley case, a compact, foldable baby buggy or a foldable garment bag, or two items in Business or First Class.

The number of carry-on baggage items allowed depends on the travel class booked.

  • Economy Class: 1 item of carry-on baggage up to 8 kg
  • Premium Economy Class: 1 item of carry-on baggage up to 8 kg
  • Business Class: 2 items of carry-on baggage, each up to 8 kg
  • First Class: 2 items of carry-on baggage, each up to 8 kg

Per TSA regulations, carry-on items are limited to one bag, plus one small, personal item.  

  • Carry-On Size Requirements: 10 x 16 x 24 inches.
  • Personal Item Requirements: 18.5 x 8.5 x 13.5 inch dimensions.

  • Laptops

Each traveler is allowed to bring one carry-on bag plus one personal time at no additional cost.

Carry-On Bags: 

  • Required dimensions for a carry-on bag are 9 inches x 14 inches x 22 inches (22 cm x 35 cm x 56 cm), including handles and wheels.

Personal Items:

  • The maximum dimensions for your personal item, such as a shoulder bag, backpack, laptop bag or other small item, are 9 inches x 10 inches x 17 inches (22 cm x 25 cm x 43 cm).
